Something needs to be said about a certain local Lake County scanner page and how it uses it's "following" to slander and cyber bully members of our community. I am proud to no longer be apart of this adult group which at one time I was actively involved in. I realize some people may know who I am in regards to this "RANT" but somebody needs to stand up for what's right and it's unfortunate even now at this point the above mentioned Facebook page claims zero accountability or responsibility which leads me to believe they live their entire life selfishly and will continue to destroy the lives of others until something is done. If anything, we should support and lift up our community members that "may" have made a mistake instead of publicly shaming, slandering, humiliating, and forever ruining these people's public image and reputation before they we're ever proven guilty in the court of law. Not only are we supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, we should have a community (online or not) that is supportive and loving versus condemning, insulting and degrading. The majority of these people have done nothing in life but drugs and rehab and now sit behind a computer screen gaining fake confidence by allowing and enabling a large group of depressed negative people congregate socially with no positive agenda other than stroking their own egos while not just making life hell for others but permanently damaging people's reputations and some, more recently, to the point of suicide. This is why (most likely unbeknownst to the group itself or the community as a whole) they are being investigated by the FBI IC3 task force- the obvious history of slander and cyber bullying is apparent and unfortunately due to their ignorance and negligence there most likely will be federal charges pressed for multiple offenses. It's disheartening to sit on the sidelines watching this unfold but not as sad as witnessing a rather large group of my own community members use the groups power and following for evil instead of good. Shame on you all.

ReplyDeleteThat page is a joke run by old ass ladies. They act as god but are really doing the devil's work ! Get a life J### and the rest of the administrators. They need a Facebook page to feel validation in life !
ReplyDeleteI can't say much about the group itself, but I can say that the women in that group who live day in and day out on that page are in their 40-50's and should be embarrassed by their words of humiliation and the slandering of others.

I generally follow the group for up to date information and started following the group during the Valley Fire. A lot of good information was found there that I couldn't find on any other scanner page. Fast forward to the Sulphur Fire (this time i was a victim of it). No information or updates from the scanner. I found life saving information on the other scanner pages. And not a single person helped myself or others in the ways of basic necessities (water, underwear, etc) when it was requested from the group.Sulphur Fire victims were on their own. Ask any of the women who have volunteered for the Turkey Drive how the behind the scenes really went down. They do not help. Just claim they do so much for our community. I never saw any of those keyboard warriors actually in the flesh volunteering during ANY fire. I've seen them let some really great administrators go or they quit due to the drama. I have recently seen them make posts shaming a mentally ill person and also a mother dealing with a tragedy on her own. How many people will commit suicide from the shit talking? How can any of them truly feelwhat they are doing is right? Even more recently they put my friends personal information out from a scanner call and were hesitant to remove it. It put my friend in extreme danger and they truly should truly know better when it comes to abuse and dv. Sadly, a woman I respect has just become administrator and it breaks my heart to see the group turn to this. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteWow. I'm speechless to have read this testimony, how unfortunate for so many. I personally don't want to be involved in any bashing but if this is all truth than something definitely needs to be done. I don't use Facebook much nor do I have the time to scroll and read and click etc so I haven't seen anything in or from this group for at least a year...other than random stuff people say out loud word of mouth in public which isn't positive stuff, I was just hoping maybe the criticism was taken constructively and maybe some changes were made to use the fan base and following for good and not evil, perhaps not. What exactly is the details on the suicide thing? I've heard a few things and the scanner page is ALWAYS mentioned as some sort of motivator but I'm unaware of any details. DeleteThere is nothing different being said here from what I have been saying for the last two years!! I left that group and blocked every admin from that page after they decided to "bully" me for defending a retired officer for being arrested... falsely I may add! I hope like hell they all meet their judgement day in hell!
